Activity 1: Game, Set and Match — Individual Project

Students will work individually to create a short 1-minute video to present their understanding of the basic tennis scoring rules. They will study the seven scoring rules and record a video of them explaining one of the rules. Students can choose to record themselves or any subjects that will help them express their topics.

1. Course, topic and grade/age level: Tennis Basics, grade 5, 7 to 11

2. One learning outcome addressed by producing the video: students will understand the tennis scoring rules by demonstrating their understanding in a video and watching other’s videos.

3. Software and hardware you anticipate students will use: students will use their personal devices and Flipgrid to take the video and do minimal video editing.

4. The platform where students will share or distribute their videos: students will post videos in class groups in Flipgrid and watch other’s videos and make some comments to enhance their learning.

Activity 2: Game, Set and Match — Group Project

After activity 1, students should be able to move to the next level. In this activity, students will work in groups of 4-5 to create a video of 5 to 15 minutes to apply their knowledge of tennis scoring rules into practice by making an educational video to share online. Students can present information in a clear and innovative way.

1. Course, topic and grade/age level: Tennis Basics, grade 5, 7 to 11

2. One learning outcome addressed by producing the video: students will be able to use video media to present information and share their projects online.

3. Software and hardware you anticipate students will use: students will use a personal device to make the video and use Adobe Spark to refine their final work. The tutorial on how to use Adobe Spark to create a video will be shared with students.

4. The platform where students will share or distribute their videos: students will upload their videos on YouTube under the school account. Also, the final projects will be shared around campus.
